When are you looking to part with the pot? You know any place to buy a inexpensive immersion chiller?

25' roll of copper and a couple of fittings is all you really need. 50' may be better for 10g batches.Keith wrote:When are you looking to part with the pot? You know any place to buy a inexpensive immersion chiller?

I'll take the burner with the legs off your hands.

Everything is available to go as of now. I haven't brewed since I moved in and I don't plan on brewing until I'm setup for electric.Keith wrote:When are you looking to part with the pot? You know any place to buy a inexpensive immersion chiller?

I might also be interested in the false bottom. How high off the bottom is it? Is it similar to the ones Dave is selling?

Re: Selling my all grain gear
I looked into the price of copper before I purchased mine. If you're going the 50' route, it's going to be hard to find a 50' copper coil much cheaper, if any at all when compared to buying a new chiller. If you plan on doing 10g batches, I'd definitely recommend the 50'.
If I was doing it again, I'd buy one of these - it's not the cheapest, but it looks well built and is 1/2" and stainless. The fittings attached to the tubing is a nice feature. I think bluenose uses this chiller.

It's completely flat - very similar to a Sabco false bottom.CartoonCod wrote:I might also be interested in the false bottom. How high off the bottom is it? Is it similar to the ones Dave is selling?

I'm going to pass on the false bottom. I'll just buy one of your bags once I get a big pot.

I'm in Williamswood (about 20 minutes from Bayers Lake).
You can either come out here, or if I'm heading in town I can try and let you know ahead of time. I generally work from home, so I'm usually around days and nights.

Re: Selling my all grain gear
I'm actually downgrading from a counter-flow chiller. Since I'm moving to a 3 vessel electric system with plate chillers I need the pump I've been using for my counter-flow for the electric system. So I'll go back to the immersion for batches using my 10 gal batch-sparge setup.jacinthebox wrote:Hey dave...did you have an older/smaller im chiller that you were replacing? I've used it 2 times now and can supply fittings with it if you need them. We can haggle about price if you're interested.

I'll be brewing extract and looking at using some sort of hop sock, would there be any benefit for me to use a false bottom?

I'll take the false bottom if it's still up for grabs Jimmy.
