Just had a Sea Level Heather ale. The usual butter bomb so be sure to drink it cold. I'm also pretty sure there is quite a bit of DMS in there.

Re: What's everyone drinking tonight?
We've been drinking that one at the Port Pub and it's been really nice. It tastes almost the same as the summer blonde they had which was a big seller at the pub. Very "drinkable". Chalmers said their canned beers had that, and I heard someone else (my optometrist) say that they had Sea Level beers in cans and it wasn't good.chalmers wrote:CartoonCod wrote:Just had a Sea Level Heather ale. Re: What's everyone drinking tonight?
I don't doubt it. The problem is all in the packaging, it seems. Bottles and cans are consistently full of diacetyl, which I believe is due to an infection in the lines that he refuses to acknowledge and fix. Maybe if you asked him nicely, GRock, he'd address it?
I can assure you, this is not a case of jealousy or hate for the brewer or his products. Many of us make the trip to the Port Pub several times a year to enjoy the beer, as the beer on tap is great. However, the cans (and previously, bottles) that are available in Halifax are undrinkable. The Blue Heron ESB was used during the BJCP tasting exam as a prime example of diacteyl flaw (this is usually done by spiking a good sample, but that was not necessary in this case).

Not just a line/packaging issue.
