Brewnoser vs. Brown Squirrel

Post by Juniper Hill » Wed May 29, 2013 12:56 pm

Planted some hops last week. Was unhappy to find the cascades dug up and gone. Other hops left alone. My guess it one of those pesky squirrels...who knew they'd like hops rhizomes? I've got some industrial strength caynene pepper powder (Cridder Ridder :rocky: ), so sprayed that over the remaining rhizomes. Anyone had similar experiences?

Yes, but I blamed skunks or raccoons. Who-ever it was left a pretty big whole, and it was covered in compost that was positively writhing with worms, which is why I thought something that would go after protein.

Squirrels are bastards. Last year when I was up in Ontario a giant grey squirrel came right through the window screen after an apple pie I had cooling on the window sill.

I did not realize pies cooled on windowsills outside of cartoons...

Forgot about the racoons. Have lots of them too. Maybe I need to get a dog!

Hmmm, that pie looks suspicously like a squirrel pie and not an apple pie....

It takes about a dozen of those little varmints to make a half decent pie.

I tried it and did not care for it. Rabbit is the way to go.

NO, No. I tried Squirrel (no moose).

I like my rabbit.
