Hey all,
Doing a leak check on my keezer as I'm coming closing to kegging my batches. I have a leak on all 3 check valves. They are MFL. Where the MFL fitting hooks into the check valve is leaking. In all valve positions its leaking.
Just curious if this is normal? I contacted OBK and they are sending me some replacement parts. I didn't use a wrench or pipe dope yo avoid messing up the brass or threads. Any advice?
Also should I be using o rings in my MFL connection from swivel nut to the manifold where its metal on metal?

If you have NPT threads, they NEED teflon tape or pipe dope.

The leak was the cause of a after sale modification. We replaced as a customer courtesy.

Re: Keg Leak Help
I moved the check valve. Using the nut closest to the manifold that's apart of the casted body of the check valve. I turned the valve itself so the switch was not in the way of me running my lines. The leak I am having is where the MFL section of the valve is. So I guess because I turned it by the manifold, it did something to the bottom section of the valve where the MFL hooks up. Or maybe I hit it I don't know. I removed the Manifold after the first one leaked to check the others without hanging inside the keezer.ethier.sc wrote:What was the mod? I had taken the advice of someone that it can be turned in the manifold. OBK is kind enough to help and send out a new manifold. I won't be turning the valves with the new one. Though I'm curious how others have done it.
Only tape is on the MPT section of the tank and on my MPT to my beer gun. I was of the understanding the tape dope on flare is pointless given that the connection is made at the flare and not the threads.

The mpt flare ends don't need tape, but if they use npt threads on the other end they do.
