fruit addition to primary?
Brewed a wheat 14 days ago, was planning to rack it into secondary on top of some fruit (blood orange) after it slowed down a bit, but it took longer than expected and i didnt get it done before i left for ottawa. now i am back, but it has been 14 days since i pitched. Just trying to decide on the best course of action for the fruit
1. rack into secondary on top of fruit (assume plenty of yeast left in suspension to ferment it out?)
2. add fruit to the primary bucket and agitate
any advantage to one over the other? any third option i should consider?

Yeah, I think racking into secondary would be fine. I left my wheat ale for 3 weeks in the primary before I racked it on top of some gooseberries and fermentation took off right away almost.
Fermenting: Oud bruin/Vienna Pekko SMaSH
On tap: Nelson dry hopped Berliner/ Scottish Heavy 70-/ NE IPA

I found a good way to agitate is to use a sterilized hose hooked up to CO2. You don't risk oxidizing and it seems to really stir everything back up.

Your 'secondary' plan is actually listed as your primary plan and vice versa.CorneliusAlphonse wrote:1. rack into secondary on top of fruit (assume plenty of yeast left in suspension to ferment it out?)
