Yeah, Patrice's local municipality wouldn't let him brew out of his home. He had a petition against him as well with people all worried about rat infestation, beer getting into the town water, etc.

How weird is that? I can understand worrying about rats (and I guess you really could have a rat problem if you don't handle your spent grains well), but beer in the town water???? Where's the down-side?

Yeah Patrice must have some really strange neighbors. Not one of my neighbors showed up to oppose my plan, It took a grand total of 3 minutes to get pushed through.

Yes, I was aware that it was a Moncton thing. I'm just glad that their backward thinking wasn't contagious. I suppose if Patrice had been trying to set up a call center, he would have been approved for all kinds of grants and forgivable loans.canuck wrote: That's correct, it was just a Moncton municipal thing. Next door in Riverview, Bruce got approved out of his house.....so it just depends on the local bylaws. If I still lived in next door Rothesay, I would of probably had zero chance in getting it approved out of my house.

What I meant was that we sat before the same council, the only difference were his anal neighbors..lol. And that call center comment is right on the money, good one.

Re: Step One!
So today has been kind of an odd day. This morning, I got a call from a reporter from the Telegraph Journal. She read the meeting minutes from my Quispamsis town council meeting and wanted to do up an article about me wanting to start a nano brewery in the area. We talked on the phone for a little bit and I answered a bunch of questions for her. A couple hours later, her and a photographer came to the house and took some pictures of me. One of the pictures that they took was me pouring off a beer from my kegerator.......which of course I made sure it was in a Brewnoser glass.
Anyways, was quite surprised by all of it today. She mentioned that the article will probably be published tomorrow in the Telegraph Journal.

Where are you in riverview ? I grew up there and I couldn't imagine ziggurat burrel saying yes to this!

And congrats on a St. John nano

Nope, not yet. I spoke to the reporter yesterday and she said that the article would be in today's or Monday's paper. I wasn't in there today so I guess it's going to be Monday.mr x wrote:Did the article appear?

The article appeared in today's paper. I don't have an online subscription to the Telegraph Journal so I can't post a link. I just snapped a pic of it instead.

Re: Step One!
Thanks for posting that Shane.
Good write up. Too bad she didn't include the fact that you recently won a gold medal for one of your brews at a top level Home Brew competition.
Nice glass... where did you get it from I wonder.......
Congrats again.

That is awesome. I hope you're successful with it, and you'll have to let us know which establishments will be carrying your brews.
Congrats man, best of luck.
