Temp Controller Instructions
Anyone know of an idiot proof set of instructions online for setting up a temp controller on a mini fridge. I have the controller, I just don't know how to set it up and don't want to electrocute myself.

Re: Temp Controller Instructions
Do you have the STC 1000? if so I can take a photo of mine and post that. I use 2 of them.

Looking to do this project in the near future on a freezer I barely use. Great write up on hoptomology, thanks Tony!

Re: Temp Controller Instructions
IIRC the one you've got is slightly different than the STC-1000 but gets wired up essentially the same way. I think the only main difference is it can't do heating and cooling at the same time. So depending on where you're fermenting, you may have to move two wires twice a year.

Re: Temp Controller Instructions
How does this look? I'd wanted to do it in a junction box but realized I don't have the tools at the moment to cut it up and I need it for tomorrow.
I used the instructions from byo:
http://www.byo.com/stories/wizard/item/ ... r-projects" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Except my controller only has the cool option so it is a bit let complicated. I just skipped the hot wire going into the second port on the controller ad the wire coming from the controller to the second bronze connector on the electrical socket.
I plugged it in and the controller seems to be reading temps properly. I haven't plugged it into the fridge yet. I thought I'd get some input from the experts first.
