split Carbonator

Post by Tony L » Sat Feb 16, 2013 9:05 am

Tried to use my carbonator cap on a brew I had enough of that would fit in a 2 liter bottle and found the cap to be split. I had that sucker a long time and used it regularly. Ended up using some J-B weld so seal it and it looks good so far, but I think I will get Chalmers to pick me up one for when he comes over in a few weeks time, just in case.

Anyone else have any troubles with them?

I picked up a SS one from OBK when he had a big sale.
At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter. :wtf:

I would have also had I ever though the heavy plastic on the regular one would ever split like it did.
I must checkout OBK to see how much they are now and if I need anything esle to spare me shipping one item.

Thanks, X

The OBK one is great. I wish I had ordered 2.

Just watch to make sure the spring clip is seated properly before you use it. Mine came apart last time when I connected my gas line. Luckily it was only a 500ml bottle I had to fish the parts from. Other than that, its been great.
