Yup! If folks are willing to trek out to Timberlea, my place can be the back up plan.

How many people actually brewed a single hop, and how many of those can make it to the meeting? Don't make me start a spreadsheet!

I did brew, and am pleased with, my single hop beer. Will attend the meeting, pretty much anywhere.

Time
Sandy you wanting this to be a late afternoon into the evening thing with food/etc.. or are you thinking a weekend alternative meeting, starting around 7?

Beer Swap From looking at the original spreadsheet.. Who am I missing?
SleepyJamie - Chincook - Attending
Rubbertoe - Nugget - Attending
Andy/akr - Simcoe - Not Attending but will trade
Graham - Brambling Cross - Not Attending but will trade
chalmers - Challenger - Attending
LiverDance - Polaris - Tansported by chalmers
Tim Gr - Citra - Attending
Stu - Tettnang - Attending
TimG - Amarillo - Attending
Sandy - Mt Hood - Hosting
Dirt Chicken - Wakatu - Attending
Jimmy - Columbus - Attending

So if the above people all made beer and want to swap, the plan is to bring 15 small bottles to trade (if the people that can't make it still want to trade, maybe figure out a way to send your bottles with somebody that is going?). Please correct the group if you didn't end up brewing, don't want to trade, etc so we can adjust how many bottles to bring.

As far as beer to be drank Saturday night, take as much as you want.. but let's say a minimum of a growler or equivalent? I'm probably just going to bring my keg.. easier.

For the people that didn't a brew a single hop, you're still invited!! So to help Sandy with numbers, speak up if you want to come, might come, etc. Looks like RobD, Jayme, Gavin, and a few others expressed interest? JMac, get out of that man cave and join society! You too Nash! :rocky:

I'm out unfortunately. Had to tap my keg of Nelson Pale Ale over the holidays for family. There may be a pint left in the keg.

I'd say 7 should work for most.

As far as who is invited, it is your place, but I was thinking EVERYBODY was invited! :D :rockin: X)

I'll see if I can get my beer down to HRM, but its doubtful I can make it. Best case scenario, I can make it for the beer swap, but not stick around for the tasting. I'll have a better idea soon.

Graham, did you brew a single hop beer? Are you headed to the tasting?

I won't be able to make it to the tasting but I will send my single hop beers for trade with Chalmers and also a growler to try for those in attendance.
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

I went to bottle last night. White scum on top of the beer. The beer I brewed the day after is fine.

I have decided to bottle it anyway and do another batch this Sunday to distribute later.

How did it taste? If you're giving them to us, I sure hope you tasted them first! :)

Tim, you said 10 in your post, but we'll need more. Can people bring 15+ bottles to make care packages? Just because people can't make it that night, it would be nice to still get them some beer (and we can get theirs during the handoff).

I can Marshal some beer for a while. Then when the others can get it when they are in town or they can arrange a mule.

I originally put 10 because there looks to be only 11 people that brewed a single hop? I have no issue bringing more, just not sure who they're for.. :P

People will need boxes/milk crates etc for the transport.

I have CO2 and could hook up 6 kegs at the same pressure.

I could get another tank from a friend if required.
