Raw vs Roasted Cocoa Nibs

Anyone have any experience? What's the effect on the finished beer?

I think when they're raw it's cacao, but I could be wrong. I also was under the impression they're quite hard to find in raw form, also could be wrong haha. Do you have a source? I think the roasted cocoa nibs give a pretty good chocolate flavour - the BNL stout was done entirely with roast cocoa nibs I believe (....but I could be wrong).
