Driveway sealing?
Figure someone here will be in the know - if I've already got signs of a crack in an asphalt driveway, is there any point in sealing it? Or does it need to be patched first?

Pretend you're a road crew, seal the crack with asphalt tar then seal it.BobbyOK wrote:Figure someone here will be in the know - if I've already got signs of a crack in an asphalt driveway, is there any point in sealing it? Or does it need to be patched first?

I'm curious what your plan is, as I am in the same situation.
At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter.

Re: Driveway sealing?
U can buy asphalt and crack filler at crappy tire. Use this before sealing the driveway.
I wouldn't use sealer to fill in cracks. Didn't work on my driveway.
And don't cheap out on the dealer. Try and find the best quality sealer u can.
If u are really anal u can call patchworks. They do small jobs I think.

I've got a bucket of crack filler here at the house - bought it a few years back, but ended up not using it when they paved the street and gave us a wicked deal on repaving the driveway. It's yours if you want it.

They sold the asphalt at true cost to the government. Didn't you know? My grandfather hates when they do that and goes out to inspect the work every time we hire a crew to pave stuff for our buildings. Ensures no vehicle leaves the site with even a shovel full of asphalt still in it.LeafMan66_67 wrote:I've got a bucket of crack filler here at the house - bought it a few years back, but ended up not using it when they paved the street and gave us a wicked deal on repaving the driveway. Brewing right now: whatever is going on tap at Stillwell in a few weeks.

Going to do the crack fill as suggested then seal it. Hoping to have it done before the 29th, but if you're planning to be there I may take you up on the offer of that crack filler.mr x wrote:I'm curious what your plan is, as I am in the same situation.
