Another caper

Post by crabby hermit » Tue Aug 14, 2012 12:10 am

Hi everyone, figured a year of snooping was enough it was time I joined your Site. I have been brewing for years but only extract and festa brews. By the sound of it most of you make your beer from scratch.Hopefully I will get there someday although hard to get supplies in cape Breton.I will keep listening and hopefully learn something.

I expect most of us don't actually make beer from scratch - but there's not a lot to talk about if you're making Festabrews. They're fine beers, but all the complicated stuff has already been done. Once you get into brewing from grain, you have to have somewhere like this to talk about it!

Currently on tap: Nothing!

All-grain brewing isn't hard. Reading about it can be intimidating, but it still ends up being mostly cleaning :P

I didn't mean to suggest it was hard - it's getting easier every time :-) (and with Brew-in-a-bag, there's even less cleaning)

But when you start with grain, you have to have stuff like a recipe!
Currently on tap: Nothing!

Welcome! I'm in CB every once in a while for work, and have been scuba diving out of Arichat, close to your neck of the woods.
