When I went to the paintball story they had dozens of used and new small tanks. I assume they were for sale.fever31 wrote:Hey guys maybe some of you know if there is a place you can get extra tanks for these...Because where I would want to use it a spare tank or 2 would be nice...

Really? NG on Burnside just traded mine (I've only run out once - but I walked in with a red tank and left with a black one).mr x wrote:They do them onsite.

They swapped out your paintball tank? Strange. At Quinpool, I'm fairly certain they will *only* fill yours.derek wrote:Really? NG on Burnside just traded mine (I've only run out once - but I walked in with a red tank and left with a black one).mr x wrote:They do them onsite.

IIRC, it's $4.99 for 9oz.

Re: Jacpac's have resurfaced
I just had mine filled a couple of days ago at the NG on Lacewood. They took it and filled it onsite while I waited (it only took about 30 seconds).
They aren't very popular in the homebrew community so it seems unlikely that NG would start stocking them for trade-ins.

They should be able to look up your purchase with your phone number if you can't find the receipt.protectivedad wrote:
I just bought another one until I can find my old receipt and use it to return at the $59.99 price. I was going to ask about refunding to the sales price, but I couldn't be bothered, just easier to return it with my old receipt then go through the drama.
Also, i do beleive the 9oz tanks don't need a hydro.

Picked one up from PA in Burnside today...I don't know if it was the last one or not, but I didn't see anymore there.
So does anyone know the verdict on hydro for these tanks? Are they exempt due to their size?

I've never seen anyone look at them when I had them refilled. I and don't ask.

That's good news.
Did you guys drain the c02 that came in the tank before using it?

Hello Guys...Jimmy when I picked up mine on Thurs that left 1 on the shelf but called earlier in the day and told me there was 9 left...think you might have 8 so should be some left for others...If anyone else is looking call them with the sku number from page 1....Had mine filled today in Quinpool and date was not an issue...also there is a sticker on tank explaining that due to transportation issues the tanks are shipped and sold empty...Have called a couple of places looking for another tank and only ones so far is C T 9 oz and up starting at 25-30...none at walmart or army navy...still looking...Fever

LOL that's almost what I paid for the whole system just for the tank, go figure.
X you mentioned the tightening the nut, I assume you mean the little on on the top of the tank?
Is that where leaks are known to happen?
And Jimmy mine came empty, as I think someone else mentioned so haven't tested mine, but changed the end and soon as I get it filled I'll test it out.

Re: Jacpac's have resurfaced
I see used ones pop up on Kijiji fairly often, as people get out of paintball. I've got a neighbour who is quite into it, I should ask him. Are y'all looking for more tanks?

Downs, the little nut is about the only thing you can turn on it, other than removing the entire top.

Thanks X, that's what I thought.
Chalmers if the price were right I could use another tank, I've looked around on kijiji too.
No hurries though that is for sure.
Should have kept my old paintball gear.

Re: Jacpac's have resurfaced
Quick question for y'all: tried to use it last night, but the damn thing kept on creeping up. I'd set it at ~5, but eventually, it would go off the dial, almost max out. Anyone else experience this? Yes, I burped the keg first, and I'm sure it hadn't been sitting at 100psi. Ended up only using it when the keg stopped flowing, as a top up.

Did some searching, tanks that are 2 inches or less in diameter and less than 2 feet long, do not need to be tested.

Re: Jacpac's have resurfaced
Ok guys, I drank the koolaid.
I stood in PA for a long time contemplating buying two, but only left with 1...
There are a few left last time I checked.
So you mean to tell me they will still re-fill these Co2 canisters? The lady at PA specifically mentioned that the canister was expired and that was why they were not selling them at full price (now just $29.00)
Where in Quinpool did they refill for you? And how much?
Two more questions:
1) Will this work as a "poor man's keg setup" ?
I mean, can I use this, a corny keg and a thumb tap and realistically use this as a daily option? I don't have the funds right now to set up a dedicated regulator, 5lb tank, tap ect.
Can I just toss the whole rig in my beer fridge?
Finally, what EXACTLY do I need to buy to rig the hose up to run into a keg, what's the process?
I see someone just 'backed off" the fitting end and used some type of clamp into a quick disconnect on here... will it easily convert back over to it's original purpose?
Sorry about the newbie questions guys, I'll be sure to pass on the advice once I'm a seasoned vet

Re: Jacpac's have resurfaced
I'm actually thinking of using this in a second fridge as I have an extra tap and shank.
Not great for cabonating I would think but for serving should be fine, you might go through a lot of tanks though.
I did exactly as the previous post suggested about just moving the spring up on the hose and adding in a quick connect.
All you have to do is take that out and re-screw in the original connector.
I'm no pro myself, so I'll let the real experts weigh in as well.

Re: Jacpac's have resurfaced
Hello BenFrank...
I had mine filled at Noble Grape on Quinpool...Cost me 4.99 plus tax and tank date was not an issue...I would not use it to force carb your corney as it would take a lot of your co2...I plan to carb with reg tank and use jacpac to be used when outside or going to parties...I'll leave the other answers to others or until I have mine hooked up and flowing...
