Can't think of much offhand....maybe hydro certification cost?

Re: CO2 tank refilling and hydro-testing
I went to Simplex a couple weeks ago, didn't realize it was cash only and didn't have any on me. The guy filling my tank told me no worries, just take it..lol
Luckily Becky had some cash on her, so I paid anyway. It was great service, fast, and friendly. I mentioned I was a Brewnoser and he said he's had quite a few of us coming in lately!

Seems to be the place to go for sure. I think that Co2 tanks might be a good place for our brewnoser stickers.

Re: CO2 tank refilling and hydro-testing
So this is really cool. Was just talking to Clyde at Simplex. I asked about Beer gas for stouts and after a bit of convincing said he`s gonna look into it and if hes allowed by the government to mix and fill etc. But he said he`s totally behind supplying gas for stout fawcets and he`ll mix in your tank no need for exchange. So Im definately a fan, he said like 1.80 per pound for Co2 so thats sweet. I highly recommend and he`s not averse to a few home brew , Im definately gonna bring him some. Nice to see people like him getting behind home brewers like this.

Are you guys talking about the Simplex Grinnell in Dartmouth. Do you know what their hours are?

That's the one - not sure of the hours though. I'd assume standard office hours ie: 8:00-4:00 or something like that.Tunny wrote:Are you guys talking about the Simplex Grinnell in Dartmouth. Do you know what their hours are?

Re: CO2 tank refilling and hydro-testing
Any word on the beer gas issue? If I understand correctly beer gas is only for stout serving, not carbonation? So basically I would have one tank dedicated to stout and one for everything else?

Re: CO2 tank refilling and hydro-testing
Pretty much. There is some CO2 in beergas so you'll have minimal carbonation.

Re: CO2 tank refilling and hydro-testing
Does the date stamp indicate that the last time this tank was tested was August of 92 (or is that January of 98)? How much can I expect to pay to have a 20# tank tested? Could I still use the remaining gas in the tank or would 20 year old co2 be stale?
Thanks!
Thanks!
