Lol, it's a bitch. Stir up the bed a bit and don't worry about clarity into the kettle. It might get better after the first running if you are batch sparging.

Stuck sparge

Stir more and add more rice hulls. Had this happen before and it did eventually start back up. Works for me and the beer still turned out just fine.

Good luck

Crap not a good brew day. Stuck sparge, had to stir constantly to get it going. running off last 4 liters into small pot and suddenly it started to run better. Only prob was i was in other room. Filled pot then all over floor, wife begins to clean and i notice cleaning rag partially in pot. 4 liters down the drain. 27 liters boiling away nicely now but with all that stirring I may get some bitterness. We shall see. Amateur brewer learning session I guess. Not sure what caused the stuck sparge. Maybe ground to fine, thoughts? :spilly:
Also no rice hulls but I wonder if it would have helped

For whatever reason, i used to brew a belgian pale ale with a french pilsner malt that would stick on me. I could only blame that bag of malt.....

On further thought and although it never happened before. I think my mesh hose filter may have been collapsing. Will take care of that before next try.
