Use of kegs?

When using kegs, eg. Coke,Pepsi, the temperature and the pressure control the amount of head. What else, eg type of tap or some inline device, would allow more carbonation without turning all into foam?Michael

Are you the person who was trying to run beer from the basement to the kitchen counter?
At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter. :wtf:

More protein in your beer would give you more head on your beer, but regarding any device, nothing comes to mind. You probably are thinking about a beer gas mix that when used with the proper tap will present a dense head but to get more carbonation you just need to add more CO2. Too much CO2 and you will get more foaming.

using more beer line or using a McMaster-Carr epoxy mixer insert can help reduce foaming. If your beer is at the right temp, the right pressure and you're still getting foam in your glass these can help.

as X alluded to, having your keg stored at the right temperature for the level of CO2 you want to dissolve is also important.

I assumed he had his system balanced, and I didn't know about the mixer.

My line is three feet long and I am using a small gooseneck shaped tap.The mixer mentioned, where does it go, in the line or in the tank itself?Thanks,Michael

Depending on the diameter of that line, that is too short. I use 5 feet on mine with a tower that terminates about 2 feet above the top of the keg
and I use 10 Psi to hold carbonation and to dispense with.

IIRC, the mixer goes in the keg tube.
At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter. :wtf:

yup, it does. let's me pour a proper glass at 12 psi, 4C / 39 or 40F, and three-ish feet of tubing, using a picnic tap.
