In Poland now and had a decent American style IPA called Megaloman from Ursa Maior brewery in south Poland (I think). The hops were a bit confusing; maybe Cascade with Citra and Columbus and a subtle oak character although they don't mention it (at least not with my poor attempt at translating the label). About 6.5% and malt balanced, hop bitterness was smooth. Medium dry finish. Went well with my pizza at Maka i Woda, similar to Piato in Halifax with a wood-fired pizza oven and certified pies.
A pleasant surprise to have a tasty, hoppy beer on the continent. There are quite a few beer-centric bars in Warsaw with lots of selection of your standard European beers as well as a pretty decent Polish craft beer scene. Can't wait to try more while I'm here.

Thanks for the report!
Sounds like their take on an American IPA, perhaps with the ingredients they have access to (ie, quite possibly difficult to get those West Coast hops).

Yes, peobably so. Today I passed by some hop farms by bicycle in Kazimierez Dolny between Warsaw and Kraków. Most are harvested already but some vines left. A polish hop website shows a unique set of varieties. Maybe I can try to bring some back.
From Polishhops.com:
Super Aroma: Lubelski, Tomyski
Aroma: Sybilla, Oktawia, Izabella, Pu³awski
Bitter: Marynka, Iunga, Magnat
Here is a pic of some hops on a farm not yet fully harvested.
