Townshend Brewery Officially shuts down production

Post by akr71 » Thu Oct 13, 2011 11:19 am

Yep, I'm not brewing any more (here). Townshend Brewery is shutting its doors and the proprietor will work hard to burn through the cellar inventory before the brewing equipment is moved to a new production facility at the end of November, the new brew-house hopes to retain the services of the currect head brewer and begin production at the beginning of December.

I was hoping to squeeze in one more brew session this weekend for 'All About Ales' but I've noticed my winners from TBW are not aging well. It seems like a convenient time to replace my tubing, racking cane, bottling wand, etc. and bleach the shit out of all my glass. No sense in bringing any critters with and let a new 'house flavor' develop itself.

A bigger hop-yard that is less vulnerable to Cumberland County winds is also planned, with the possibility of growing under contract to a Halifax area brewmaster.

Ah, who the fuck am I kidding - I can't not brew until early December. I threw together a half batch of Fishdisease's ginger beer (http://www.brewnosers.org/forums/viewto ... inger+beer" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) this evening.

You poor simple bastard..... :problem:

Ginger beer is the tool of the devil.
At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter. :wtf:
