I don't like it Keith, it's horrible, nasty taste at the end.

 No, I haven't tried it yet. I haven't yet had a beer of yours that I didn't like, so I'm sure it is going to be great. If it's good enough for you, it will be good enough for me.

Really enjoying drinking this by the fire

Awesome job Keith, very nice. Reminds me of Newcastle brown only better, so you probably made it to style. Well made.

Thanks

Mine taste and smells like apple cider and is over carbonated. It's hard to pick out the malt character. This bottle is infected.

Oh Shitty! ...CartoonCod of all people. That's bad luck Keith (and Adam).

Not a hint of cider in mine. My one from Trevor was like that though, and I think I was the only one that had that. What is that cider bug and where does it come from?

Mine was great! Very nice brown and easy drinking. Smelled nice and malty with a nice clean finish. My only critique was I thought it was just slightly under carbed.

Did you have a grolsch or crown cap bottle? I'll have a batch fermenting in a week so you can pop over and try a carbonated sample once it is ready.

That was a last minute grab, filled it with boiling water and let sit for 10 mins. Didn't want to give the bottle up, was sitting in my window ledge for months. Sry about that.

I'll be doubling up tonight. I drank a Vicar's Cross last night and it wrecked my palate so I wanted to give this beer an honest review.

My dad really liked the sample I gave him. As did I. Nice easy drinking brown ale.

Keith I got a flavour from this one that I couldn't describe. Possibly the yeast. I'd like a little more malt flavour. This one tasted different from the Hoptoberfest version I tried.

The grain build and hop build have been the same. I adjusted the mash temp, and adjusted my water profile. The other thing that would be different would be that at hoptoberfest the beer was 3 weeks old. Vs almost 3 months with his one.

Nice malt profile on this one Keith my only comment was that it was a bit thing but 3 months old could have something to do with that.
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Could also be the lower carbonation. I carbbed this one at room temp and rushed it. Apparently I could have went higher.
Also next batch I think I'm going to add a few more oz of carapils to help with the body. Glad you enjoyed.

Keith the one I remember at Hobtoberfest had a nice English aroma and no off flavours. Something happened in my bottle or due to age as mentioned above but I'm not sure. I can only describe the flavour as a salty one that I haven't tasted in beer before. Really enjoyed the younger version in Sep.

Not sure about the salty flavor. Gypsum and calcium chloride were my only additions. I'm Brewing this again over the next week. Pop in for a pint off the taps to see if you can detect the same flavor. This batch however will have melanoidin instead of victory. However they are listed as substitutes for one another.
