New Brewer
Hi there,
I'm new to the group, just recently started brewing my own beer. I have my first two batches fermenting right now, and I found both recipes in The Complete Homebrew Beer Book. The first batch was an IPA, and the second was a Porter.
I have picked up a few books on the subject, and began watching youtube videos for tips / tricks / advice. But I assumed there must be a local group of individuals that I may be able to chat with. Currently I am living in Fairview, but I will be moving to Windsor in the summer. In the mean time, I am loving the new found world of home brewing and am eager to learn.
I am considering attending the December meeting, A) to meet some other local brewers and B) to learn about the local malts (I've been creeping the forum for a couple days).
Anyways, thought I should introduce myself!

At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter.

Re: New Brewer
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

Give a man a beer, and he'll waste an hour. Teach a man to brew, and he'll waste a lifetime.
