Hello Everyone

Post by Brian The Brit » Mon Oct 13, 2014 11:52 am

Hi there everyone. I am new to this. Well, actually, that would be a lie!
I moved here from the UK in 2004 where I used to make quite a lot of home brew and also drank a lot of different real ales.
On arriving to Canada, we did for the first couple of years, make a bit of wine. But for some reason we just let it lapse. But guess what. I am now back with vengeance! Home made wines from natural products, wine kits and of course proper beer. I could go on and on but there is plenty of time for that. Hopefully I will have some useful things to say and look forward to learning from all you professionals out there.

Brian.
Brian the Brit.

"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.
