Don't worry, you can just join the "Couldn't make it to Hoptoberfest so we're drinking good beer the next weekend" party I intend on talking somebody into hosting on Sep 26 or 27th..

Sorry Keith. This is the first suggestion I don't approve of.

My only concern with food trucks is cost. $250 plus paying for the food is quite a bit of overhead.

Hop sausage would be delicious. Using a gas grill is pretty small effort, I'd be willing to cook for an hour or so as long as it wasn't too late in the evening. I still could later, you just wouldn't want me to. Bringing sides is nicer than the limited selection from a food truck.
planning: beer for my cousin's wedding

Last years hop sausages were delicious! I really like the bringing a side idea. I'm willing to help on the grill as well.

Sorry, I got my math wrong, sausages and fresh-that-morning buns would be $3.50, with a portion of that price going to keeping the Brewnosers site running. We would still request a contribution of topping or side from folks. Would be a great opportunity for those who don't want to/can't bring beer, to still contribute.

I haven't heard from two of the foodtrucks, but I'm going to lean towards "no" with that idea, maybe next time. Any big objections to that?

Agreed! $3.50 a piece is a great deal for the quality of those sausages and a way to support the club. If this is what people want to do lets start a list and we can all pick what we will bring. Pot luck Brewnoser style.

3.50 sounds like a great deal. should say 5 or at least 4 to keep the math even.

If people don't need change from a two toonies or a $5 bill, or want to donate to running the site, having business cards and stickers, no objections here, it'll all go back towards to group.

$5 to add to the web site fund. Put Jimmy in charge to save you the trouble.

This would pay for a few months of hosting if everyone threw in $5.00

Why don't we just send Liam to Pictou to pick up 100 or so PC pizzas?

I could accept this as an option, however if we ordered 100 pizza's they would probably deliver for free.

A $5-10 charge to cover food has been the norm in years past, I certainly don't mind.
Brewing right now: whatever is going on tap at Stillwell in a few weeks.

If the sausage were $5 each that would leave a pretty good profit to go toward forum fees, for sure. I think it's a no brainer, it's delicious, it's cheap, it helps the club, there's a grill on location and it's classic Oktoberfest-style food AND it's food made with beer and hops - Hoptoberfest.

For sides....

Kraut - need lots of kraut me thinks! Who's making kraut? Beer kraut?
Pretzels?
Potato chips? Homemade??
(beer) Mac'n cheese?
Pickles?
Beer mustards?
Potato salad? Recipe someone made a couple years ago, it was epic: http://www.epicurious.com/recipes/food/ ... z1Z9j5Upb6" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Just throwing out some ideas. Try to bring sides that might pair well with sausage rather than random sides you're good at making that will end up being a complete clash of flavours.

Also, don't forget to add yourself to the spreadsheet if you plan on going, even if you don't know what you are bringing. At least enter your name, along with the # of people you're bringing.

So is it hop/beer sausage and we bring sides? I may look at a smoked chicken for the non-beef eaters.

Plans?

It the sausage needs help (that doesn't sound right) I'm in.

Lets get it nailed down.

This is it, consider it nailed.

Let's add sides to the sheet.

I'll worry about the sausages. Please be sure to fill out the sheet so I can buy the correct number.

I'm going to make a "Greek Salad" Bruschetta and serve it on a baguette (sorry bread won't be home made).

The manager at Gahan House said we can fill up on ice the morning of the event. They open at 11:00. Can someone take care of this?

I've arranged for an outdoor fireplace so firewood (free of fire ants) would be appreciated. If you can bring some, add it to the spreadsheet.

I'll try to clear my morning. What do we have to put the ice in? Provided I'm game I can transport it in the van.

I'll be at Octoberfest from 10-2 so I can't help much with prep. If the weather warrants it I'll drop the canopy in the am.
Beer.
