I dare say something needs to be upgraded with the site to stop the spam.

Two new spams in two days but they only come to my email. I thankfully, don't see the same thing when I log onto the site. Is anyone else getting this?

Seems like we keep getting blasted with Russian spam. I’m sure efforts are being made, but is there anything the rest of us can do to help eliminate or reduce this?

We get a few spam posts every few days. It's annoying, but it isn't a lot. I'm usually the one who removes them.
I need to do some maintenance on the forums, like upgrade phpBB to the latest patch version, revisit the existing spambot protection (perhaps blacklist China and Russia), and enable SSL.
Today might be a good day for this actually.

I just enabled this feature as well:
Check IP against DNS Blackhole List:
If enabled the user’s IP address is checked against the following DNSBL services on registration and posting: spamcop.net and
www.spamhaus.org. This lookup may take a while, depending on the server’s configuration. If slowdowns are experienced or too many false positives reported it is recommended to disable this check.

Awesome, thanks for all the work you do. I’ve learned so much from the forum and none of it would have been possible if weren’t for all the behind the scenes work.
