If you want to make the comments to your friends, go for it. Unfortunately, people end up being guilty by association and I'd rather be far from such comments. There is plenty of humour out there which doesn't involve sexism, so I don't think anyone should be afraid to laugh. I also don't think it's something the "moderators" need to involve themselves in, as it's not a threat to anyone's life. The few comments in this thread taking issue with the sexist remarks should help potential members realize that it's not something universally tolerated on this board. Hopefully the calibre of discussion can remain high, and people can show off the sharpness of their wit rather than resorting to cheap, offensive remarks.

I sooooo want to bring my own brand of horrifyingly incorrect humor into this thread.

I can see that an innocent comment got hijacked and references were made to sex, which in our culture is a daily occurrence and usually just ignored. I also know some (maybe all?) of the people who are commenting and do not think there is malice involved. I understand these were a few comments meant to be a joke. However, I think Dirt Chicken has a valid point and that this is not an appropriate way to joke about something that can be likened to a gang bang (reference of standing around in a circle to watch someone get "tapped" is exactly what this is). Misogynist references permeate our language but that does not mean it is acceptable. If the reference alluded to a minority we would probably all feel a little uncomfortable but we are still quite accepting of gender comments. In an open forum, these type of comments can be harmful. All I ask is for people to think about why there are objections. Do you really think this is ok? I'd rather talk about beer.
I fail to see how any of this is misogynistic. This whole thing could have been about Nash "tapping" a keg named Jimmy and I'd feel no differently about it. It was simply a funny play on words - nothing else.
Oh, and the act of watching people have sex isn't considered a gang bang; if anything, it would be considered voyeurism or exhibitionism

I tried to avoid weighing in on this, but I want to say that a joke about the "have's "is not the same as a joke about the "have not's". A poor guy making fun of the rich is not the same as a rich guy making fun of the poor. Same goes for race, sex, etc. To be empathetic we should be careful not to just imagine ourselves on the other side of the joke. Guys generally are almost never made fun of for being sexually assaulted, except in the extreme, so we have no idea what its like to grow up in a culture where even the language can be oppressive. Saying you wouldn't take offence is just a way of saying you don't understand what its is like to be in the other's shoes. I don't see the OP as really offensive, especially since who it was said about is clear that she found it funny. That's what friends do, especially males, is we make fun of one another. On a public forum it can be taken way out of context. Among friends its a way to bond. We have many circles of friends here and I don't want to lose the causal way we conduct ourselves. After all, its beer that brings us together. I do think we should be cautious when someone does take offence, and admit when a joke steps over that line. It doesn't have to be the target of the joke and it shouldn't stop us from speaking our mind and joking around from friends. I do think it should be used as an example of how diverse we are and how long a way we have to go before we are going to get a real proportion of female members. If that's not the direction we want to go, that is fine. I just think we should validate the comments that people could (and have) take(n) real offence to what was said. I personally think we should be as inclusive as we can be, after all we are all here for beer.

Unless inclusion includes bud light lime, that's where I draw the line.

I agree about the "have's" and "have not's", it was just an example of how I don't see the original post as being offensive. Maybe I should have said I wouldn't have been offended had the joke been about my girlfriend, Becky.
I will admit though, I am a pretty relaxed person. You could say pretty much anything to me, or about me, and I wouldn't get offended...unless of course the comment was intentionally made as a dig.

Having been one of the people who perpetuated the immature joke, I apologize to everyone who was offended
I honestly didn't know the original joke was directed at a real person, but rather, a keg that had a name. A female name.
I also tend to take most things a step or two over the line marked in the sand by normal, decent people.
I also didn't think that anyone on this forum was a normal, decent person

This is my signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.
