Fermentation Temperature Control?

I used to make wine kits before getting into brewing beer... I haven't made a wine kit since then though, but I picked up a kit from Noble Grape last time I was buying hops
I never used to worry about fermentation temperature control when making a wine kit - just dump it in a bucket in the spare bathroom and leave it for a couple of weeks - I also didn't really have any great way to control the temperature... only just to keep the heat up a little in that room so that it didn't get too cold for the yeast.
I've got a half-decent temperature control setup for making beer now... what sort of temperature ranges are preferred for (red) wine fermentation?
