No smoke ring. I did this one in the oven to see how it compared to true donair meat; it passed the test. Next one will be on the grill!

It was pretty delicious! Never thought I'd have a homemade donair that tasted as good, if not better than the real thing :rockin:

All looking sweet. I subbed the black pepper for Szechuan peppercorns for fun, and the lamb for pork. I think I might try to cut the sugar down in the sauce too, maybe by 1/3.

Ground meat certainly picks up the smoke and forms a nice ring. I used hickory for ours.
