Cornish Pastys Meat or Vegetarian

Post by GuingesRock » Fri Jan 03, 2014 12:10 pm

The pasty shop is the first thing I head for when I go back home to Cornwall. I crave them and miss them.

Flaky pastry, chopped or minced steak, onions, swede (rutabaga), potatoes, salt and pepper. Glaze the pasty with egg.

This video gives some history and how to make them: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KwFUOsA5MEo

Forgot to mention the cheese and onion ones are delicious too. No meat, cheddar cheese instead. That's my Mum's favorite kind.
