Cell Phone Battery Drain

So I got a new phone a little while ago...my first smart phone. It's a Sony Xperia from Bell. And it's been good so far. However, it seems like with some recent upgrade or something I did, my battery is draining like crazy (ie. 12 hour life or less, with fairly minimal use). When I look into my setting and into power saving, I've got all the options on to keep as much battery life as possible. When I look into what's using the battery, it's "Google Services" using 80%. It won't let me disable this, and I have no idea how to uninstall it or if I should. Anyone have any ideas about this shit? I'm challenged when it comes to technology. UGH.

Keely, Have you tried taking it back to Bell in the Mall. It might be the battery and should still be under warranty, if not they would probably know what is wrong with it.

Went back to Bell in the mall. They've got a few things to try. Fingers crossed!

I noticed the same thing on my Xperia in the last couple days. Look in your apps for google settings and turn off location services. Seems to make a bit of difference so far although its been less than 24 hours.
