Pure excitement, canned coopers kit, didn't know anything and didn't properly sanitize. Beer was infected, and I put the gear away for 2 years until I picked it up again for 1 last attempt. Needless to say I'm in around 50 successful batches after this failure and now and wouldn't change it for the world.
