So what do you all do for summer vacation?

I go home to Heart's Delight for a few weeks and with the summer recreational cod fishery in full swing, my wife and my self haven't stopped going out on the water for cod jigging. No time to take pictures and with the weather so good I haven't had time to do much inside, so no posting to the Brewnosers, :(

Now comes bakeapple picking. looks like a good crop this year

No summer vacation for me this year due to ridiculous project schedules at work, which admittedly is my own fault for booking projects that overlap tightly and have ridiculous timelines. Taking the odd Friday here and there this summer to spend in the sun and get some things accomplished around here.

I'll be taking a week and a bit in the early fall to head to Edmonton for my wife to take a course and to visit some friends. I fully expect to spend the majority of my time there between golf courses and the Craft Beer Market.

I don`t have much vacation this summer, as I had a death in the family that needed me to go home (Ontario) for a bit.

However, my sister is going to come from Ontario to visit in August. We plan to do some beer-related adventures like going to Boxing Rock and Hell Bay, since none of us have done that yet. And also a trip to the city for Firkin Wednesday at RockBottom and a visit to Stillwell. Nothing else on the list has been finalized, but possibly some hiking - Blomidon or Keji. Maybe tubing on the Gaspereau River. And hopefully showing her how to homebrew. :)

Otherwise, we`ve been trying to install a small archery range in the backyard, tend gardens, and fix a vintage moped. Summer is fun. :)

Just got home from a rather intense three weeks:

- 14 hour drive (over two days) to the Laurentians to my wife's family's cottage with two boys (3.5 and 5) and dog (6 year-old Aussie who has not yet settled down to anything approaching normalcy).
- 3 days at said cottage with in-laws.
- 10 hour drive to Grand Bend, Ontario, to a cottage (really a house) my parents had rented.
- 3 days at said house with parents, brother and his wife and daughter (4), sister and her husband and their son and daughter (7 and 4).
- Drive to London, Ontario, for family wedding; two days in hotel with all the same family and more.
- Family wedding. We didn't last until the dance floor opened up due to youngest son pulling country club fire alarm during post-dinner speeches.
- 8 hours driving back to cottage in the Laurentians.
- 6 days at the cottage.
- 14 hour drive (again, over two days) back to Halifax.

There were some day trips in there as well, but just typing the above out made me feel psychotic enough.

I survived largely by sampling as many brews as I could get my hands on throughout the trip. Got my first taste of some well-knowns and a bunch I'd never heard of. Made it to Beau's All-Natural to buy some direct from them (and get a totally boss t-shirt). As one can imagine the car was pretty insanely packed so the one rule I had to deal with was not bringing any home. But I did manage to take a picture of every beer I sampled so I'm hoping to put together an animated GIF for shits and giggles.

Rough trip but all you'll remember is the fire alarm. You'll tell the story for years.

Well I have another 2 weeks off starting friday.

This vacation will be pretty tame.
Camping the long weekend at Laurie Park.
Probably visit couple beaches, and visit with family.
If time permits, I'll hopefully knock out a brew or 2 as I can't seem to keep Stanley stocked. I'm thinking i'm going to brew out of my comfort zone this next batch.

Long weekends and extended long weekends hear and there, but so far Mother Nature has fucked with me.
I took a few days mid June to finish getting the garden in (roughly 2500 sq ft planted this year) - it rained and rained and rained.
We had a camping trip planned for Little Rissers near Bridgewater for early July and Arthur blasted through. We made the best of it and just went to Amherst Shore a couple days later.

The wife and I are heading to Boston for a few days mid August.
