Heard about that. It's supposed to quite spectacular, one every 90 seconds. Tonight is probably the best night. We're tempted to keep our little boy up until after dark. He's never seen a shooting star, and he's always talking about them.

I watched it for a bit on Saturday night and it was good then, probably one every 5-7 minutes then. I'll probably wander out before bedtime tonight

Got the kids out of bed at 12:30 and went out back last night. Even my youngest saw a few before he passed out on my lap again and the skeeters finally chased the rest of us back inside.

I said to my wife: "Oh, meteor shower this weekend. I guess it'll be overcast." And it was, out here on the Eastern Shore. Happens every time there's any kind of astronomical event.

Yes, I was actually surprised that is was clear here. Its also my wife's birthday, so we always make an effort to watch the Perseids and without fail its overcast. I can't remember when the last time we had a clear night for it.

I think I remember the last time I saw the Perseids: 1974 :) I've seen the odd meteor since, and one other significant shower, but the Perseids keep eluding me.

Even us city-dwellers can spot them!
