I'm looking for suggestions on a new TV to replace my 42" LCD.
I'm looking for something in the 50-60" range, needs to have at least 3 HDMI hookups, and will probably go for the Smart TV option, but not 3D. Aiming for $1200 or less.
It'll be in the basement, so it won't be in full light, but there is still plenty of light leakage during the day, so hoping for something not too reflective.
Has anyone bought a good TV lately that they'd recommend? Or ones they'd recommend staying away from?
I've been drawn towards aSamsung 50" LED @ Costco for $899 (price in store was cheaper), or a Sony 55" LED @ BestBuy for $1099, both fit my above demands.
I don't remember if they were LCD/LED/plasma, but while shopping, I found that some TVs would look like it was sped up/was too smooth(?)/refresh rate was too high(?). I think that's to do with the AutoMotion/dejudder settings set too high, correct? It was definitely turning me off from the TVs I saw it on, but maybe I should have tried adjusting them to something watchable...

I vote for the Samsung because I have a 46" version and it's great. I stayed away from Plasma because my living room is pretty bright on sunny days.

But plasma is so much more crispy!
I don't know about that model but I like the Samsung I have, but I have a 42" plasma.

I have a 42" Panasonic plasma that I really like - but I use it in a dark room. We've also got a Toshiba LED for upstairs - its fine, but I wouldn't rave about it.
