Re: Random sports babble thread
Subban was looking like a liability last game. Doing too much headhunting and getting caught out of position. I don't think he'll be missed.
St. Louis on the other hand, not so sure about that decision in a game where speed is going to be important.

For sure. BTW, I believe Allison Nimik's (NCM) husband is the fifth on that team. I think she may also be Ontario provincial champion...

Some really dirty hits by the Fins. Hoping Canada puts it away here.

Can't believe that hit wasn't a penalty.

Re: Random sports babble thread
Latvia wins! Wow
"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.

I remember when the World Hockey Championships were in Halifax several years ago and the international fans that came over to cheer their team on. Ended up having a wild night at the Seahorse drinking Latvian lager with some Latvians. It was their pride and joy.

6 minutes left in the 2nd and still a 1-1 game. We're one unlucky bounce away from crying in our touques.

Re: Random sports babble thread
Hilarious interview with Russian coach after game.
Q: What future, if any, do you see for your own work and for your coaching staff? Because, you know, your predecessor was eaten alive after the Olympics—
A: Well then, eat me alive right now—
Q: No, I mean—
A: Eat me, and I won't be here anymore.
Q: But we have the world championship coming up!
A: Well then, there will be a different coach because I won't exist any more, since you will have eaten me.
Q: But you're staying, aren't you?
A: Yes, I will remain living.

Re: Random sports babble thread
Up 1-0 at the start of the second. The slimmest of leads, given the Swedes' offense.
