borrow a motorcycle helmet?

Post by CorneliusAlphonse » Fri May 17, 2013 5:26 pm

Hey everybody, I'm taking a motorcycle course starting this holiday Monday, but the helmet I had lined up to borrow isn't going to happen. I have no immediate plans to buy a motorcycle after the course, so I'm on the hunt for a helmet to borrow for the next week or so. Does anyone here ride/have a helmet to loan out for a week?

Thanks in advance!
planning: beer for my cousin's wedding
Fermenting: black ipa
Conditioning:
Kegged: barrel barleywine from 2014 - i think i still have this somewhere

Alternatively if anyone knows if there is anywhere to rent one, that would be much appreciated.

I have one from when I took the course several years ago. However, it's been in the crawl space for almost 5 years now, so it's got a bit of a mildew smell to it. If you don't mind, you're welcome to borrow it.

I've got a lid I'm not using right now but it's only got a tinted visor right now. Size Medium. No bike so no rush in getting it back.

My wife is out of town for a week, so mine is going unused.

Liam

What are the details on the course.

Price, duration, requirements etc.

I'm looking at getting a scooter for commuting and errands.

Motorcycle course, one evening, plus 2 full days (8-5) of practical including exam. Need licence, helmet, shoes cover ankles, durable jacket, leather gloves (mine are winter gloves). Cost $485. They offer a different course for scooters, might be cheaper (though the endorsement on your licence is the same, so you could take either course and be legal to drive either one - just wouldn't get the right experience if you take the wrong course.) The Course I'm taking is put on by "safety services nova Scotia".

I took it last year. If you'd rather you can do the course during the evening. It was 3 nights a week for two weeks (6 evenings) I think, but the classroom night remains the same.
