Looking for a windows and doors contractor

Post by mattvincent24 » Thu Mar 28, 2013 7:32 am

I'm in the process of getting qoutes to have a bunch of windows and doors installed in my house and I was wondering if anyone here has any suggestions. Or maybe there's a fellow brewnoser who does this for a living?

I installed all the windows in my house. Bought them from allsco. I did one at a time every month or so.

I had all my windows and doors done by Nova Doors and Windows. I was happy with the results. Less than a week of disruption for 9 windows, two entry doors and a custom 8' wide garden door system.

don't we have a window/door guy here? Check through the "What do you do for work?" thread.

I am looking too. The self install is tempting but the flashing and finish work is out of my league.

Mine were pretty easy. Just measured inside length and height of the jchannel and sent in my measurements as brick mould.

Finishing work on the inside was easy. Just used pine to extend to the drywall.

Window part is easy but the finishing and prep work is tedious. Took about 2 hours per window and the more you do in a day the quicker it goes.
