Re: Good Hotels and Restaurants
Kathleen and I stayed at the Prince George (Halifax) at the weekend overnight and went to the Big Spruce event. I was in Halifax a couple of days before and dropped in to book. Haggled a Deluxe king room down to $135. The receptionist was chatting and asked if it was a special occasion. I said it was my Birthday and also I was a home brewer and was going to an event.
We checked in after the Big Spruce thing and then went for a meal at the fish place (Five Fisherman or something), had really good seafood gratin and a bottle of wine wine from Chille. Was a great meal and not expensive.
Then we went back to the room to freshen up before going to Stillwells and found this.
I’ve stayed at other hotels in Halifax but this place has always been the best in my books.
We’ve never stayed away from home by ourselves since Max was born. He’s 6 now, and has a great baby sitter and was more than glad to wave goodbye to us.

The Westin in Halifax has a great selection of craft beer at the pub downstairs.

I always stay at the Cambridge while in Sydney (couple times a year)...free breakfast, resto is good, across the street from the Old Triangle and down the street from Governors...free Drinks on Wednesday evenings in the Bar (Managers reception). Rooms are suites so you can have a few drinks while not sitting on the edge of your bed
