Glen Breton Pilot Samples

Post by chicanuck » Sun Jul 26, 2015 7:25 pm

I was at a card game with friends this weekend and Scotch became the topic of discussion. The host had done some design work for Glen Breton in the past and has become good friends with somebody important there. So he proceeds to bring out a few boxes of pilot run samples from batches dated 1997 to 2002, which were gifted to him by the distillery.

We tried several and had some interesting discussions on the differences by year and by sample. If anybody likes Scotch and/or Glen Breton, I thought this story might have interest.

On the poker front, I broke even despite being in pretty bad shape by the end of the night. :-?

Cheers, chicanuck

Wow, very cool! Any of them clear winners/losers? Were those samples from individual barrels, which would then be subsequently blended for the finished product?
