Raising a glass

Post by YoungKrang » Sat Dec 06, 2014 7:03 pm

I know a bunch of you will likely be consuming a few beverages tonight. Perhaps you'd consider raising a glass to one of the greatest people I've ever had the privledge to know and call my brother. He was a true son of Canada and Nova Scotia. Lt. (N) Andrew F. Webster would have been 34 today. Sadly he did not make it back from his last deployment to the gulf and died on January 2 of this year. He loved a good pint and I will be at the Celtic corner tonight to celebrate his life with his folks and a few of his friends.
Please consider raising a glass to him this evening, wherever he is I know he'll be raising one back.

I will raise a pint to Andrew Webster tonight.
Did he have a favourite beer?

Cheers

"Twenty years ago — a time, by the way, that hops such as Simcoe and Citra were already being developed, but weren’t about to find immediate popularity — there wasn’t a brewer on earth who would have gone to the annual Hop Growers of American convention and said, “I’m going to have a beer that we make 4,000 barrels of, one time a year. It flies off the shelf at damn near $20 a six-pack, and you know what it smells like? It smells like your cat ate your weed and then pissed in the Christmas tree.” - Bell’s Brewery Director of Operations John Mallet on the scent of their popular Hopslam.
