Halifax Hotels

Post by canuck » Wed Oct 15, 2014 9:12 pm

I was originally gonna crash at my cousin's place on Saturday night but it turns out she has a double brew day at Garrison on Saturday. So rather than bother her, I'm just gonna get a hotel room. Looking for something reasonably priced and walking distance to Stillwell's, Premier, etc. Thoughts on the Lord Nelson?

The Hampton Inn on Brunswick looks pretty central as well. $109.

Check to see if Cambridge Suites has any deals on. You may need to call and book to get a deal there. That's where I usually stay when I'm in town.

The Atlantica usually has decent rates. A little further away, but might be an option.

The Radisson is right downtown. Not exactly cheap, but cheaper than the Prince George. Decent price for what you get.

It actually ended up being $159, not $109. I haven't booked anything yet, but this one might be the winner.

Both of the Delta's downtown have a (fairly difficult to locate) "Atlantic Canada Residents" special rate, which is $127/night. It's the best price I've been able to find downtown. If you're interested, I'll dig around for the URL.

edit: updated to correct price, added link:

I've had good luck using Hotwire.com. Right now I see 3 4* hotels downtown for $94-122 a night. You don't see the hotel until you book, but I have stayed at the Westin few times and Sheraton as well, always for around $100.
