Beer gear and other stuff in Truro

OK, maltster led me to this place in Truro:
Red Light Equipment, 151 Industrial Ave., (off Glenwood Dr) 893-3363
It's a building chock full of used restaurant equipment, mixers, sinks, roasters, pop machines, you name it. They had four 3 gallon corny kegs there, but three need new posts, and I'm not sure if the fit is universal for ball/pin to what is on there now for threads. There was also a couple dual gauge CO2 sets with 5 or six pin lock QDs on them, and lots of other junk too. Kegerator, etc...

Any decently priced 7+ gal stock pots/kettles? If they're a decent price, might be worth the drive down from Amherst.

That's a size I didn't see in there, but there is so much stuff piled around, it's hard to see everything.

No prices. lol
He wanted $30 for the little kegs, which would be reasonable if the posts were right. Going to look around for some info on those kegs (spartenburg, challenger iv maybe), see if it's worth the hassle to try and make them right. If anybody wants them, go ahead, I think he might take $25 each if you bought the 4 of them.

Sounds like a cool place, are they open on the weekend?

Not sure about that. Also, the guy who does the pricing is usually out for lunch I think during business hours, and nothing gets sold without him. It looks to me like he just makes up the prices on sight. Incredible piles of SS stuff. It's really worth a look if you are driving by, and bring cash.

Don't think they're open on the weekend. I've been there a couple times but only through the week. I got a 5lb aluminum CO2 tank and a regulator for $35. (tank had to be hydro'd)
He also told me they had another warehouse full of more equipment. No large brew pots though, that was the first thing I asked him. He does sell new restaurant equipment as well and will order things in but it's not cheap. I think he quoted me $180 for a new 30l SS pot. (I went for a keg conversion instead)

Thanks for the tip.
BTW—if anyone happens across a large used brewpot (large enough for a 5gal boil) that's in decent shape for a decent price, please do let me know.

Awesome place if you're into weird junk. Anyone interested in an electric mash tun/brew pot? Only $2200.

I couldn't fit that huge contraption in my van with all the stuff I was hauling to BSBNB so I settled for the triple gauge regulator with five lines and connections. He also had six Leffe glasses for $3 each, but I had found one at Value Village for $2 the day before.

I went in there last Friday - bought 2 of the 3ga cornies for $60. He tried to sell me a 5ga for $50 and I laughed. Also tried to sell me regulators but they were in rough shape. Cool spot though! Never would have found those 3 gallon kegs for that price.

He had four when I was there. Only one had proper fittings (and they were mixed), the others needed posts for in and out.

so-so shape. One needs a real good cleaning. Also one has a ball valve and pin lock valve (oddly enough) and the other has random useless valves. Haven't tried to piece it all together just yet. None left that I saw.
