I emailed to see what type they are, no reply yet. I'll post if i hear back. But figured i'd post if someone's close and needed some more kegs. Can't beat that price.

I just got an email from him (I'd emailed him this morning). He still has them and will take 40 for the four. I'd be on my way to Chester if I didn't just read they were pinlock so thanks, I guess I should have actually asked about them before I got excited.
If anyone wants them I can pass on your request to him (or just email him yourself I guess.)

that's weird...i received a reply back saying they were pinlock(as soon as i got the email i updated this thread...yes, i'm just that busy sitting here at work all weekend)....then 15mins later i get another email saying they were sold.
I use ball locks too, but for 40 i still would of grabbed them. I've had no problem reselling pinlocks to fund ball locks

With coke still using these, they're much easier to get that's for sure. What's the main reasons no one runs pinlocks? my reason is cause my majority were the ball, and the first ones i got, so i just kept em the same.

I bought Pepsi kegs because it was apparent that most of the Brewnosers were using them. I'm not sure they're any better, but interconnectivity is important - which is precisely why Pepsi uses ball locks and Coke uses pinlocks: they don't _want_ interconnectivity. I doubt the fact that Coke uses pinlocks is why they're easier to get - it's that there's such resale value for ball-locks to us.

Understood about interconnectivity.... When i mentioned coke still using the pinlocks, and being easier to get.....i meant with pepsi switching to bag in a box (BIAB), they've basically sold off most, if not all their ball locks. Not many floating around unless ya come accross them by chance. Coke is supposed to be making the switch, so eventually they will be sold off in bulk numbers as well later down the road.

It's my understanding that the biggest difference (that I'm aware of) is that ball-lock fittings can be removed with a standard 6-or-12 pointed socket... pin-lock fittings require a specialized tool for removal.

It's somewhat of a special tool. A princess auto socket and a mini grinder will do the job (making the tool that is). It's a standard socket with slots to clear the pins on the posts.

It seems like it's because of the way the images are linked on that website. The actual image is stored at the following address

Pinlock posts can be removed with an open end wrench. No need for the special socket if you don't have it. I've removed the posts on the ones i've had no problems with a wrench.
Another difference is they're shorter and fatter...and alot of coke kegs don't have the handy pressure relief valve in the lid, have to depress the gas in post.

I run all Coke fittings. They are way easier to get off a keg if some beer gets dried out in the fitting - the ball lock ones stick and stay sticky. And as someone else just said, you can get them off with a decent size crescent wrench. And you know when they are ON, so you don't get them on part ways, and lose gas, or (shudder) beer.

I'm looking for a couple (2-4) ball lock kegs in good shape for a good price if anyone knows of any around.

Yeah, he still sells them for $40, or $35 each if you buy 6 or more kegs. He says he doesn't travel to N.S, but that was of a month ago or so, that may not be the case anymore.
