Considering Swapping my Ball Locks for Pin Locks

Given the shortage of ball locks in the world today I'm considering switching to Pin Locks. I have a large fridge, so it doesn't seem to matter for diameter. Right now I'm just gauging interest. I have 4 ball locks at the moment and I can buy more pin locks from Dave.

Are there any downsides to pins other than no pressure relief and larger footprint? My other option is to go with a set of threaded disconnects on my lines and pick up ball locks and pin locks to swap, but that seems like an unnecessary hassle and a waste of $50+. X, do you have disconnects that you'd be willing to swap out too as I only have ball locks (even trade of course).

Looks like I'll be doing this. I can do 2 at your earliest convenience and 2 more when they are empty. Let me know.

I realized that the $50 I'd spend on connectors could be better served buying a new keg.

Did you look into this yet X? I have two brews ready to go to keg and I'm curious if we're gonna swap.

Lol, sorry. What I meant by that was setting up a hybrid system would cost me as much as buying an additional keg. Plus I need more vertical space in my fridge than horizontal. Any chance I could pick two of them up tomorrow (leave them out and I'll drop off two ball locks?) so I can try them in the fridge to see if they will fit. Also, do you have any connectors to swap?

I've got one ready. Will have more once I kick a couple kegs. Connectors are tied up though.

I know you guys are trading, however have you looked at the conversion post kits for pin lock kegs? I'm not sure if Dave carry's these yet or not. I found these on OBK's site when looking for replacement posts a while back.

I thought about this briefly, but then I realized that a) I'd need 4 of them or I could use that money to buy more kegs and b) I can swap 4 kegs and buy more from Dave thus supporting Everwood. New connectors are not a big deal and my fridge should pose no issue with this.

I swapped out out. There's some serious gunk in the one I picked up, lol. It's soaking now. The one I dropped off was filled with boiling water, tipped on each end for an hour, the posts were pulled off and cleaned and it's been star San filled since last weekend so feel free to use it as is if you take my word for it.

Sorry, feel guilty now lol. I've been so busy, my keg cleaning has been atrocious. Don't clean the next one, and I'll try to think of something to make things even. Bottle of caustic?

That's fine. My intent wasn't too shame you but assure you that you can use the keg without worrying about my sanitation rituals if you so choose.

As for making things even, you mule stuff for me all the time and have not once asked for anything in return, so I seem that more than payment in full for a little inconvenience. Plus oxy clean is my friend
