WTB: Ball lock posts

Post by Keith » Mon Dec 16, 2013 3:24 pm

Hey,
I need a in and out ball lock post set. Anyone know where I can buy these? I have a keg in there that has the CO2 purged, but not keeping a seal and one post is damaged since I purchased it and was holding a seal til now.

Seems odd the post is damaged to leak. Mayb just needs a new poppet and/or oring?

OBK has the parts and I think NG (Burnside/bayers most likely) also has them sometimes (they have a parts drawer).

yea it's took a hit somwheres. Post won't even accept a ball lock on it. Looks like someone hit it with a hammer (or possibly a co2 tank flopping around in the trunk).

I'll have to hit up burnside. I have a full beer in it, I've purged the air but won't keep a charge.

Is it the thread on post or the keg itself that is leaking. I have some parts.

nope it's the seal up around the post itself. The post itself is banged up.

looks like the post was smacked and has since crumpled in a bit along the outside edge.

Yup, that'll do it. What type of keg is it? There are some kegs that require different posts that aren't as easy to get replacements for. Firestone & Cornelius kegs work with most of the universal posts that are on the market, but Challenger keg posts aren't so easy to find...

I'll take a look. Are there any specific markings I should look for?

Found the identifer stamped on the side of the keg. Really hard to spot through all the scratches and scuffs. Looks like it is a Cornelius.

*** Super Challenger it is :)
Going to order a set off OBK. Anyone know if I keep the O2 off the beer if it will be ok without a pressurized seal? I'd hate for a new keg to go bad.

Double check to be sure those replacement sets fit any Challenger models before you order a set.

If you're worried about losing the keg maybe you should think about bottling the batch?

whoops Super Champion. Seen challenger and posted it. OBK has what I need. I'm just keeping air off the top. Should be fine til they arrive.
