Stainless Sheet metal - where to buy?

I'm looking for some stainless sheet metal to build a hopper for my grain mill, probably 14 ga. I'm only looking for a 3'X2' sheet or thereabouts.
Anyone know where the best place is to get it?

Call Purity. He may even have a cutter for you.

You can also try Mariner Forge in Woodside.

Sent from the brew timer.

I assume you have a design and it will be easier to have a pro cut it.

ok I get it, that would be the best, I can easily design it in AutoCAD

Metals 'R' Us on Gloria McCluskey Ave in Burnside had good prices on flat bars when I needed them, I suspect there sheet metal prices are good too. They also do custom cuts. If I recall correctly there is a $12 minimum order. http://www.metalsrus.ca/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

The fab shop at work orders all their sheet metal through Russell's and claim they're quite good. I'm not sure if they can punch it for you in house though - I suspect if you plan to send a CAD drawing, that's going to cost a LOT more than the piece of sheet metal itself. I don't deal with fab a whole lot at work, but my understanding is anytime they have to gear up the punch for a new design it requires a flat pattern, which takes time and materials.

Just a question, why Stainless? Aluminum would be easier to work with and sheet metal would be cheaper.

That's a good point... hell, for a hopper you could get away with steel

Or even wood/Masonite.

good points
I thought stainless just because it's pretty much the best and would minimize rust over long term. In my experience aluminum it is not very forgiving although sheet may be different.
I ended up building one out of 1/2" mdf last night. Probably the worst choice, but it will get me by and I can get a feel for the hopper size I'll need. I think I'll just wait and see if some cheap sheet metal appears.

What size pieces do you need? If you've got a way to cut it, I can probably get you a few scrap pieces of aluminum from work.

Thanks for the offer, I/m going to run with my mdf hopper for now, it holds enough grain for one batch and seems to work pretty well.
