Boxer Pup [Not for sale for now :)]

Short version: We found out that our son is allergic to the Boxer puppy we recently adopted so we're trying to find him a new home. Price is the same as we paid our breeder ($700). He's a great pup, and at only 7 weeks old is already well on his way to being house broken and crate trained.
If you know of anyone looking to add a great dog to their family, please do pass this along, I'd really appreciate it.

Male boxer puppy, reverse brindle available for sale to good home. This wonderful little guy joined our family this past weekend but we've since found out that our toddler son is unfortunately allergic. He has had his first needles and vet visit/clearance and is wonderfully healthy and quite content, but also full of energy and quite playful when he wakes from his naps.
We would love to see him join a wonderful family that will love him as much as we do. We are offering him for the same price that we paid our breeder and we can put you in touch with her if you have any questions beyond what we can answer.
He'll also come with his favourite toys and blanket, as well as a leash and a nearly full bag of puppy chow. We also have a large kennel for him as we've been working on kennel training since he joined us.
Feel free to get in touch via email or phone.

Keep the dog, sell the kid?
It'll be a lot cheaper in the long run.

Heh.
More seriously, what a shame about the dog. I wish we could take him, and hope he finds a great home!

Thanks, we're hoping so. My wife and I both love the breed, had no idea that our son was allergic, he didn't show any signs before, until the puppy came home and they started playing together a lot.

I lover boxers - except they're too short-lived. But we're a one-dog family until the current dog (who's been steadily dying for four years) shuffles off. She really doesn't tolerate other dogs.

Is it really bad? I used to have allergies to animals but my parents made me suffer through it and within a few months I became used to whatever animal was giving me trouble. Now I have very little allergies to speak of, so it was probably a good thing. Your little guy is pretty young though and it might be too much for him at that age.

Yeah, if he was a little older we'd try to tough it out for a few months to see what happens, but he's been pretty miserable for the last couple days, sneezing and swollen, itchy eyes. We'll likely try again when he's older, hopefully it's something he'll outgrow. We just don't want the pup to get too attached to us and then turn him upside down shipping him off to a new owner.
You're not interested are you?

I wish. Fall is the worst month for me to puppy train. I work crazy hours. I would love a dog, and boxers are awesome, but living alone makes it too difficult. Not to mention commuting to Ottawa to visit Emma every couple of weeks. If this was a year from now it would be another story. I wish I could help you out.

We're in the opposite situation, I think my boxer is allergic to our baby...LOL. About six months after she was born, the dog started developing skin conditions....coincidence maybe? Lmao
Hope you find a good home...i'd love to take him home but our current living situation is a no go.

Today is looking a little more positive, and we're hoping now that Bishop will be able to stay with us. Owen seems to be building up a bit of a tolerance to the dog now.

it seems i am only allergic to puppies. for some reason when they come close to me my my throat closes up and i have a hard time breathing. its quite strange, but older dogs have no impact.
hopefully your kids body can simply learn this isnt a threat and adjust to it.

Good to know Jamie. It seems his body is building up a bit of a tolerance. He's been playing with the dog for about an hour and a half now with no issues and hasn't had any allergy meds since late yesterday afternoon, fingers crossed.

Stress can bring that out in animals. When my wife was pregnant with our oldest, our cat developed skin problems and anxiety issues. When we brought our daughter home, the cat settled down. The dog could be confused where it fits in the 'pack' now.
Glad to hear he seems to be adapting Jeff. Keeping my fingers crossed.
