"Home beer making kit" on kijiji
Here's the ad:
http://halifax.kijiji.ca/c-buy-and-sell ... Z254000941
contents:
"Elaborate home beer making kit including 6 pop syrup tanks, 1 large gas Tank, 1 small gas tank, 4 mini cylinders, carboys, bottle cleaning items, other misc.
Approximate Value: $800.00 asking $350.00 Or best offer."
I spoke with the seller, Art, today (456-5011) who is 65 and getting out of homebrewing.
The 6 kegs are coke ball-lock kegs. I think the large tank is a 20# (full, he said) and the smaller is a 5# (don't know if its full). the mini cylinders are also co2. he said he used to fill them at the brewery. They are bigger than the little cylinders for paintballing, and refillable.
He doesn't want to get rid of this here and that there, just all at once. He's asking $350 but will probably go lower.
I've been collecting a lot of stuff lately and I can't afford another "investment" that ends up in me getting something I want and then having to sell off the rest. I would be interested in picking up another co2 cylinder, and maybe a couple of kegs, depending upon what the selling price is, and what anyone else wants.
All the best

I might be interested in one of the mini cylinders.

If someone decides to pull the trigger on this, like X, I'd love a small-format CO2 tank.

For anyone looking for a portable CO2 system should look into the Jacpac system. Runs off of paintball sized tanks, has its only regulator...great for dragging anywhere instead of dragging your normal heavy CO2 tank and expensive regulators. Canadian tire carries them.....however they're discontinued...but i was into one store the other day and some stores still have them for sale...not listed on the website anymore though.
Anyways, these were originally listed at $99.99..and usually went on sale for half price. Then they were listed at 69 or 79 dollars....they went on sale sometime last year for $29.99 so i grabbed one...haven't seen em on sale since....but keep an eye out for them...they're great..just rig up a gas line with a keg QD and an air line QD on the other end. For $30 bucks...can't go wrong especially when it comes with its own regulator...use it for dispensing only. Kit came with a 9oz tank, but can upgrade to larger paintball type tanks.

That does sound good, but probably long gone...Jmac00 wrote:For anyone looking for a portable CO2 system should look into the Jacpac system. i seen some still at the stores here in NB, but they're back up to 69.99 now...with them being discontinued i doubt they'll show up in the flyers, but might come accross a store that has them on clearance for cheap..mr x wrote:That does sound good, but probably long gone...Jmac00 wrote:For anyone looking for a portable CO2 system should look into the Jacpac system. I'm getting a 20oz bottle with a standard "320" shutoff valve (the kind our normal tanks have) for ~$45 with my keg order.
At least that way, I can use any standard regulator on the bottle.

can't find the link, but found a pic that will give you or anyone wanting to try it an idea. The black part on top of the paintball tank is basically the part they use to fill the tanks i think...with hose removed. Then just use an adapter after you remove the stem from your normal regulator.

I bought an adapter for one of my regulators that has a special pin for depressing the pin on the paintball tank, but I've never had a chance to try it.
I'd like to see a paintball tank in person so I could see if it does fit.
