Stainless Conical 14G SOLD

This is one of the Group buy conicals I bought from a fellow brewnoser.
I had in mind adding a 1.5 Tri- clamp heating element in through the racking port to use it like a brewha 3 in 1 - electric brewery with no kettles.
Unfortunately the SS Colander I bought from Jimmy (from his Brewha system) turned out to be a fraction too big. The colander fits inside but the lower handles, for resting on the rim, don't. Would work with a colander/strainer like those from Bayou or the (BIA)baskets from OBK.

I ended up buying a SS Brewtech 20G Kettle the colander fits nicely.

Or of course you could just use it for its intended purpose as a fermenter.

Would like to get back what I paid $470.

I have not sold it yet. I have 12Gals of red wine fermenting in it at the moment. Should be out by end of next week. I do have an interested party that would like to come take a look as soon as it is emptied and cleaned.
I am in Jeddore on the Eastern shore.

Hi - I am looking at a SS conical and to make the acquisition more desirable I need to convince the wife that it does a decent job on wine. Could you ferment and bottle directly from it?

That's what I do. I bought a Spike 18G (1/2 bbl) and last time I fermented under pressure, transferred to keg under pressure. Next time I will do 50/50 keg/bottle and will try using my new chinese beer gun (aka blichmann clone) to transfer to bottle - ready carbonised i believe!

Sorry, I was referring to red wine. Were you able to ferment, clear, remove "lees" and bottle directly from the conical? We seem to be drinking more wine than beer, but would like to simplify things. I am looking at a SS Chronical BBE 7 gal and there are very few posts about making wine in it. Thanks for your input.

Ok, I tried that. I wanted to drain off the lees a day or so before bottling and the oak chips in my recipe clogged the dump valve. I expect wine experts will say you have to secondary. I transfer and store my wine in 23L carboys for 6 months and only bag when I run out. i have around 6-8 carboys on the go.
If you tried bottling straight from conical I would think you would have to stir in the meta/sorbate etc and then leave in the conical for another week or so to settle out.

Thanks for the feedback. Works for me, I will tell my wife that it is capable of even doing a better job on wine...
