Job Opportunity - Manager with Brewing Experience

Post by toddiferous » Mon Jul 18, 2016 12:38 pm

Howdy, Brewnosers

Just came across this ad on Kijiji: Seeking an energetic full-time store manager with brewery exp
http://www.kijiji.ca/v-bar-food-hospita ... nFlag=true" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I would apply myself, but I'm on the hunt for the last year of my electrical apprenticeship. Speaking of which, if anyone has any leads on electrical contractors looking for a 4th-year apprentice, give me a shout, please!

Todd

Any idea which brewery this is? Seems odd to be looking for both a store manager and brewmaster in one, so I assume it's got to be new and small vs say a Garrison or Propeller.

My wife's uncle is an electrician. I'll ask the next time I see him if he knows of anyone looking.

Thanks, Bobby. Not sure who it is. I was guessing a brew your own beer venue, but there are no specifics that I saw on who, where, etc.

Pretty weird that they're looking for a "brewmaster", but "beer knowledge and experience brewing beer/cider" is only an asset, not a requirement (and is at the bottom of the list even at that).

I hope it is a brew your own, otherwise I pity the customers! :)

It could be a brewpub that's just basically buying commercial sized festa brew kits (presumably with a training session given by whoever is selling them the wort)

EDIT: If it's cider and beer it's definitely a brew your own. You need a winery license for cider in NS which is why no one here does both.

Does Bad Apple/Mosaic have a winery license? They've done both.

Wondering if it's Downeast: http://downeastbeerfactory.com/storedrive-thru/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Store opening soon and I believe another thread mentioned they're looking for a new brewer. Also hoping to have other breweries stuff available at their shop - is that even possible given existing regulations?

My assistant Dave from H&T is their head brewer now.

Yup, but that was before the authority dropped the hammer on 'em! Winery license is required.

Good for Dave. I don't think he is on here, but congrats if you are.
