WTB: Temperature Controller

Post by Jimmy » Tue Jul 03, 2012 9:13 pm

I remember someone built a bunch of temperature controllers on here a while back..are there any extras kicking around that someone wants to sell? I'm looking to pick up a mini fridge and temperature controller to gear up a fermentation chamber.

That was me. http://www.brewnosers.org/forums/viewto ... 3&start=90" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I can likely build you a couple. We can get another group build going. Shipping is free anyway.

In the garbage, hahahahah. Harris and Roome prob stocks them. Even a plastic snaptop food container would work.....

This is probably my next project as well - I'd be interested if a group buy, or any sort of buy that turns up.

I'd get in on that as well...and have some power cables to contribute as well.

I'm in if it gets going soon enough..I might end up ordering one myself if it takes a while though. I want to get brewing but it's way too hot in this place to be fermenting!

I'll get in on this one.

What components did you supply with the unassembled kits last time Hogie? Anything other then that controller itself?

I would be interested in a group buy as well if it happens relatively soon. I just picked up a full size fridge that I will be using as a fermentation chamber and will need a temp controller.

What kind of time frame could these be available?

What model fridge is that? It looks huge for a mini-fridge! I'm shocked a carboy fits with the compressor bump just on the main bottom part.

It's a kenmore elite, not sure of the actual model # though...it is a beast :lol:

Be very interested in getting a temp. controller as well. I am now back in NS, and my supply of US beer is running out FAST. Need to get brewing again!

I too am looking for a controller. I'd like to have some lager going before the end of the summer.

I would suggest you guys just pick up on of the cheap aquarium temperature controllers off Ebay. They did it as a group buy a while back, but really there's no advantage to doing it that way since shipping is free. Hogie however did wire them up for most people involved - if you're uncertain how to wire it up yourself, there are certainly a few guys on the forum (myself included) who can help you out with that. Alternatively I think Noble Grape does sell Rancos or something similar, but they cost a whole lot more. You might be waiting a while to find someone selling a used one.

Yeah it was fun building the 10 controllers last time, but I'm not really up doing it again any time soon. Maybe over the Winter but free time is just too valuable right now.
