WTB: Road Bike

Post by TimG » Fri Jun 15, 2012 9:18 am

I know there are quite a few cyclists on the forum / in the club so I figured I'd throw this out there. I recently bought a MTB and have been enjoying that quite a bit, though I find it tough to find good beginneer/intermediate trails to really use it for the 'mountain' biking side of things (any suggestions, I'm ALL ears! ). So I've been doing a fair amount of road rides instead.. which I've also really been enjoying.

So I'm looking for an 'inexpensive' road bike.. nothing fancy required at all, I'm new after all. Something of reasonable quality with ok components is all I desire, a little fixing up/maintenance doesn't bother me either.

Kijiji seems pretty sparse, so figured I'd take advantage of my Brewnoser connections and see what pops up.

:cheers2:

The rail to trail paths are great beginner trails. Low slope, wide and groomed.

The dirt chicken is our bike expert. PM him if he doesn't see this thread.
At Alexander Keith's we follow the recipes first developed by the great brewmaster to the absolute letter. :wtf:

They are great 'paths'.. they aren't really trails meant for MTB'ing. Too boring, if I'm going to just lb out the mileage I might as well be doing it on a road bike.

I tend to do them with kids and I'm not near, close to hard core.
